Cancer treatment changes more than a diagnosis — it changes what a person sees in the mirror. At Desert Diva, we regularly work with clients who are referred to us by their oncology and reconstructive care teams for two specific services: nipple-areola restoration after mastectomy, and brow restoration for hair loss caused by chemotherapy or radiation. Areola & Nipple Micropigmentation After Mastectomy
For many clients who have undergone mastectomy and reconstruction, the final step isn't surgical — it's paramedical tattooing to recreate the appearance of a natural areola and nipple on the reconstructed breast. Using specialized pigments and shading techniques, we build dimension and realistic color so the result looks three-dimensional even on flat, healed skin.
This is delicate work. Reconstructed skin can heal and hold pigment differently than untouched skin, especially depending on graft type, scar tissue, and how much time has passed since surgery. We coordinate around each client's healing timeline and typically ask for clearance from their surgeon or oncology team before beginning, since readiness varies significantly from person to person.
Brow Restoration for Chemotherapy & Radiation Hair Loss
Losing eyebrows and lashes during treatment is one of the most visible parts of cancer care — and one of the hardest to talk about. Brow microblading and nano strokes can rebuild a natural-looking brow shape for clients who have lost some or all of their brow hair, giving back a piece of their pre-treatment appearance without daily makeup routines.
Because skin undergoing or recovering from treatment can be more sensitive, we adjust our approach — often using softer techniques and more conservative pigment saturation, and working closely with each client's care team on timing relative to their treatment schedule.
